Swimmers and Sprinters Keep on Getting Faster

I think it's genetic engineeering. Have you looked at Michael Phelps and those long arms and big hands? He's growing oars out of his shoulders. His feet are size fourteen and attached to double jointed ankles. THOSE ARE FREAKING FLIPPERS!

It's not just sprints. The sub-four-minute mile, once thought impossible, has been broken by many. The current record is more than 15 seconds shorter (almost 7% less). One man has run over 136 official sub-4 minute miles, and the sub-4 has been run by a 40yo man.

Still waiting on a woman to manage it, though. The current women's record is about 4'12".
