Surely the Ipod Touch bidding war will end with an Obama Administration I-lost-my-Ipod bail out program:

(a) lost Ipod Touches are deemed lost due to over aggressive capitalistic institutions (name you institution here ______) ,

(b) an income tax surcharge will be added to Ipod Touch owners who have not lost their Ipod Touch because “it’s the right things to do”,

(b1) non-Ipod Touch owners will also be surcharged based on A and B must solve X’s problem, hence C (the forgotten man) must pay for X as A and B feel it’s the “way things ought to be”,

© surcharges will be funneled into a new government program know as LOST (Lots Of Surcharges Taken),

(d) new rules and regs need written for the department of the LOST hence several years will go by in which uncertainty reins supreme,

(e) at the end of 2 years, with rules and regs in place, the department of the LOST finds its under funded and needs additional revenue,

(g) congressional hearings are held on the need for additional funding requested by the LOST,

(h) additional funding is attached to an unrelated bill,

(i) after three years disbursements are made to Ipod Touch owners based on “need”,

(j) the Ipod Touch by this point has been replaced by a new advanced product hence claims only trickle in to the department of the LOST,

(k) the department of the LOST continues into perpetuity on the third floor of an obscure government office building.

If Apple were run by the government, instead of being a private enterprise, the iPod touch would be ten times as large, ten times as heavy, ten times as expensive, and built with thirty year old technology.

EGO's (elected governmental officials) would get them for free, and union members would get a 50% discount.

And one more thing -

If Apple were run by the government, we would all be required to purchase the iPod touch or pay a fine.

Wondering why the reflection in the window is holding a camera, taking this photo?
